"I took his gun," murmured Nika under his breath, averting his gaze with forced insouciance. "Don't worry about it."
"When?" Lasha asked, incredulous.
"First thing," replied Nika cryptically.
He flicked his eyes toward Ilarion and tossed his hair out of them in one seamless motion.
"...it's locked in the credenza, and I have the key."
Ilarion frowned.
"You don't think he would have..."
"I know he won't now," Nika said, firmly.
